Extreme 10319 40G QSFP+ SR4 transceiver module for short-range 850nm multimode fibre connections.

The Extreme 10319 is a 40 Gigabit QSFP+ transceiver module designed for short-range optical connectivity. Operating at 850nm wavelength, this SR4 (Short Range 4-lane) module utilises multimode fibre to deliver high-bandwidth connections over distances typically up to 100 metres using OM3 fibre or 150 metres with OM4 fibre.

This transceiver is intended for use in Extreme Networks switching and routing platforms that support QSFP+ interfaces. It is commonly deployed for spine-to-leaf connections within data centre fabrics, high-performance computing clusters, and inter-switch links where 40G bandwidth is required over relatively short distances.

The 40G SR4 standard uses parallel optics with four transmit and four receive lanes, each operating at 10Gbps, requiring MPO/MTP fibre connectivity. This approach provides a cost-effective 40G solution for multimode fibre infrastructures without the need for single-mode cabling.
