Nortel ntkd15ca-02: adapter for the Nortel OPTera Metro optical transport platform.

The Nortel ntkd15ca-02 is an adapter for the Nortel OPTera Metro optical transport platform. Its NTKD part-number prefix places it in the same family as OPTera Metro optical transponders, OCLD line cards, multiplexers and STM tributary/aggregate cards (the NT0H/NTEU/NTPM/NTKD-prefixed group). Adapters in optical transport shelves typically convert between connector or interface types, such as fibre connector styles or backplane pinouts, to let a card or module fit a slot it was not originally built for.

OPTera Metro equipment remains in service across a number of established metro optical networks, and genuine adapters such as this one are a routine requirement for interoperability and upgrade projects. Tech-Star, UK-based and shipping worldwide, stocks Nortel OPTera Metro hardware for network maintenance projects.
