The IBM 00LU474 is a UEPO-ZN (Unit Emergency Power Off) switch, variant L31, from the -ZN family of z14-generation IBM Z mainframe parts. A UEPO switch sits on the front of the primary frame and, when tripped, immediately disconnects utility and battery power from the entire machine as a safety cutoff. IBM’s documentation is explicit that tripping it means any data not already written to disk is lost, so it is a deliberately drastic, rarely-used control rather than a routine power switch.
