The IBM 24R1384 is a switch card for machine type 2107, IBM’s System Storage DS8000 enterprise disk system. All DS8000 models report 2107 as their machine type to attached hosts. It sits in the same DS8000 interface-card family as the 8-port Fibre Channel interface card 24R1058 and the M2BP card 24R1062.

DS8000 storage controllers use a set of internal switch and interface cards to route Fibre Channel traffic between the processor complexes, host adapters and device adapters, and matched genuine spares are a routine requirement for restoring full internal connectivity after a fault.
