The IBM 46C7193 is a BNT Virtual Fabric 10Gb Ethernet switch module carrying ten SFP+ ports, fitted in a BladeCenter chassis bay. In a blade chassis the switch module is what turns the blades’ internal network connections into external ports, so it takes the place of a top of rack switch for that chassis and is chosen to match the network adapters the blades carry. Virtual Fabric allows a physical port to be presented to a blade as several logical ones with allocated bandwidth. Confirm the chassis bay and the blades’ adapters before ordering.
