The Siemens S32011-Q60-B864-52 is a TransXpress SLD16 STM-16 optical interface unit. It is the later of the two B864 issues in our stock, and both terminate a 2.5 Gbit/s SDH line at the optical layer. Siemens transmission equipment of this generation is entirely dependent on the secondary market now, so operators still running SLD16 routes typically hold one spare optical interface per reach type they have deployed rather than one per site.

The S32011 numbering belongs to Siemens TransXpress line equipment, the SLD16 and SLR16 family that carried STM-16 traffic on long haul and regional SDH routes before and through the Nokia Siemens Networks era. A terminal is assembled from optical interface units at STM-1, STM-4 and STM-16, a synchronous multiplexer controller, telemetry and supervisory interfaces, and the shelf power and control cards behind them. Inside the code the Q group marks the function and the tail marks the optical or build variant, so the whole string matters when you order.
