The ADVA 0063204100 is an optical supervisory channel (OSC) module for ADVA’s FSP CWDM/DWDM transport platform. The OSC carries management, alarm and control data for a WDM line separately from client traffic, typically on its own dedicated wavelength outside the transported channels, so the network stays visible and controllable from the management system even if a fault affects the traffic-carrying wavelengths themselves.

OSC modules are typically fitted at line-amplifier sites and terminal shelves on multi-span DWDM/CWDM links, working alongside (but distinct from) the combined OSC-and-line-monitoring card also in our stock, ADVA 0068200014, which adds continuous optical power measurement on top of the same supervisory function.
