The Alcatel Lucent OAW-LC-2G is an OmniAccess line card providing two Gigabit Ethernet uplinks through GBIC sockets. It fits the chassis based OmniAccess wireless switches, where the switch terminates the site’s access points and applies policy centrally, and the line card is what connects that switch into the wired network. The GBIC modules themselves are not included with the card and are specified separately according to the fibre or copper media in use.

OmniAccess was Alcatel-Lucent’s enterprise wireless LAN range, built on Aruba technology, with a chassis based wireless switch terminating access points and applying policy centrally. Line cards provide the wired uplinks and access ports, with GBIC or SFP based fibre options for the uplinks. Systems of this generation are maintained from secondary market stock rather than replaced piecemeal.
