The IBM 95P5855 is an LTO Ultrium 4 tape drive featuring a 4Gb/s Fibre Channel interface. This fourth-generation LTO drive provides native storage capacity of 800GB (1.6TB compressed) with sustained native transfer rates of up to 120MB/s, making it suitable for enterprise backup and archival operations.

LTO-4 tape drives were widely deployed in enterprise data centres, libraries and autoloaders for backup, disaster recovery and long-term data retention. The Fibre Channel connectivity allows integration into SAN environments, enabling centralised tape backup infrastructure across multiple servers.

The LTO Ultrium 4 format is now a legacy technology, having been superseded by newer LTO generations. However, these drives remain relevant for organisations with existing LTO-4 media libraries or those requiring read/write compatibility with LTO-3 and LTO-4 cartridges. This unit is supplied in NOB (New Open Box) condition.
