The HP JC616A is a 720Gbps Type A Fabric Module designed for the HP 10508 and 10508-V modular switch chassis. This fabric module provides the internal switching fabric that enables high-bandwidth, low-latency data plane connectivity between line cards installed in the chassis, supporting demanding data centre and enterprise core network environments.

This fabric module is a critical component of the HP FlexNetwork 10500 Series switch platform, which was designed for large-scale enterprise campus cores and data centre aggregation deployments. The 10508 chassis supports up to four fabric modules operating in a redundant configuration to ensure continuous switching capacity and resilience.

The HP 10500 Series has been superseded by newer HPE platforms, making this a legacy product. However, it remains in active use across many enterprise installations where organisations continue to maintain and expand existing 10500 deployments rather than undertake full infrastructure replacement.
