HP AP846B StorageWorks P2000 G3 Dual Controller SFF Array with 4x 600GB SAS drives.

The HP AP846B is a StorageWorks P2000 G3 Modular Smart Array (MSA), a dual-controller Fibre Channel SAN array housed in a small form factor (SFF) 2U chassis. Each of its two controllers provides 8Gb Fibre Channel host connectivity for redundant, high-availability access with automatic failover.

The enclosure holds up to 24 hot-plug 2.5-inch 6Gb/s SAS or SATA drives and is supplied without drives, letting capacity be specified to requirement. It scales by adding P2000 expansion enclosures to a maximum of 149 drives. All P2000 G3 arrays ship with 64 snapshots and Volume Copy enabled as standard, providing block-level data protection suitable for database, email and virtualisation workloads.

The P2000 series has been superseded by the HPE MSA portfolio but remains in active service across many organisations. This unit is available refurbished, offering a cost-effective route to entry-level SAN storage or expansion of an existing P2000 estate.
