The Allied-Telesis AT-SB4211 is a switch controller card for the SwitchBlade 4000 series modular switch chassis. It houses the switch’s CAM processor chips and provides the control-plane intelligence that drives Layer 2/3 switching across the line cards installed in the same chassis.

The controller is hot-swappable, and where a chassis is fitted with two controller cards for redundancy, the switch continues operating on the remaining unit if one is removed, with only a brief pause in switching and routing. It carries three system status/fault LEDs plus two LEDs for the ETH0 management port, and weighs approximately 2.5kg.
