The Ciena 170-5140-902 is a CN5140 Hardened Service Aggregation Switch, a 24-port Gigabit Ethernet access switch with 4 x 100/1000M SFP/RJ-45 NNI/UNI ports and 20 x 100/1000M SFP/RJ-45 UNI ports, plus a 10/100/1000M management port and console port.

The 5140 is built for outdoor and unconditioned environments, with an extended -40C to +65C operating range and a rugged physical design that meets GR-487 and ETSI outdoor cabinet standards. Each of its 24 GbE ports offers both SFP and RJ-45 connectivity, letting it support fibre or copper service aggregation, transport and demarcation across topologies including fibre rings, point-to-point links, microwave mesh and FTTx/MTU deployments.
