The Ciena 170-5150-900 is a CN5150 Service Aggregation Switch, a high-density Ethernet access/aggregation switch with 48 ports of 100/1000M SFP connectivity plus 2 x 10G dual XFP uplink ports, in a compact 2RU chassis running Ciena’s service-aware operating system (SAOS).

The 5150 is built for carrier-class metro Ethernet applications: business connectivity services, Layer 2 access into IP/MPLS networks, mobile backhaul and residential/enterprise triple-play backhaul. It supports MEF-compliant Carrier Ethernet services, extensive QoS, and operates across an extended -40C to +65C temperature range for outdoor cabinet deployment.
