Selecom 117630/431D Radio Frequency Module

The Selecom 117630/431D is a DDTMA (Dual-Duplexed Tower-Mounted Amplifier) from Selecom’s tower-top RF conditioning range, designed for GSM base station sites. It integrates the duplexing filter and low-noise amplifier for a sector’s transmit and receive paths into a single tower-mounted unit, positioned close to the antenna so the weak uplink signal from mobile handsets is amplified before feeder-cable losses reduce it on the way down to the base station equipment. This tower-top placement improves effective receiver sensitivity and cell coverage, especially valuable on sites with long feeder runs or marginal RF link budgets. Dual-duplexed TMAs of this kind were standard equipment during GSM network build-out and coverage densification programmes, and continue to support many legacy and rural 2G sites still in commercial operation.
