This variant is configured for 75-ohm unbalanced G.703 signalling, providing PCM interconnection for 2Mbit/s (E1) digital circuits.

Within the DXX frame, QMH modules sit alongside GMH modules to provide the physical interface point where individual E1/PCM tributaries are patched, tested and cross-connected between transmission equipment and the exchange.
