The Ericsson KDU137596/2 is a Site Integration Unit (SIU-02), a 1U 19-inch rack-mount transport network element used within the Ericsson 2G RAN to divide and manage the Abis interface between the base station and the BSC across ‘Abis lower’ and ‘Abis upper’ segments. Installable in Ericsson RBS 2000, 3000 or 6000-series cabinets (using an adapter fork-contact unit when fitted to RBS 2000/3000), the SIU-02 supports hot-swap operation, provides an Ethernet 10/100Base-TX console port with a fixed-IP local maintenance interface for telnet/SSH access, and typically consumes around 30W in normal operation (65W maximum). This fan-equipped variant is fitted with active cooling for sites requiring additional thermal margin.
