EX3200 and EX4200 switches ship with a fixed base port count and use this optional module slot to add either two 10-Gigabit Ethernet XFP uplinks or four Gigabit Ethernet SFP uplinks, letting operators size the uplink bandwidth to the switch’s role in the network without replacing the switch itself. The module is hot-removable and hot-insertable, so it can be serviced or swapped without powering down the host switch.
