The Juniper M320-FPC1-E3-E is a Flexible PIC Concentrator (FPC) for Juniper Networks M-series and T-series routing platforms, forming the line-card slot into which Physical Interface Cards (PICs) are installed to provide the router’s WAN and LAN port capacity. Each FPC provides the forwarding and interface-management logic between the installed PICs and the router’s switching fabric, and is hot-insertable into the FPC slots on the front of the chassis. FPCs are a core building block of Juniper’s modular M-series/T-series architecture, allowing operators to mix and match interface types (Ethernet, SONET/SDH, ATM and other WAN media) within a single chassis by combining different FPC and PIC generations.
