Ciena NXAMPVG1-REV 01M: Optical amplifier (EDFA-class) function

The Ciena NXAMPVG1-REV 01M is an optical amplifier module from Ciena’s ONI Systems ONLINE 5000/7000 (ON7000) metro DWDM optical transport platform, a product line Ciena acquired with its purchase of ONI Systems Corp in 2002. NXAMP-prefixed modules boost the aggregate optical signal across the platform’s shared DWDM fibre span, extending reach between ON7000 shelves alongside the platform’s WDM mux/demux and wavelength-converter transponder cards.
