The Juniper Networks NS-ISG-1XG-A is a 1-port 10 Gigabit Ethernet oversubscribed I/O module built for the Juniper ISG Series of Integrated Security Gateways, including the ISG 1000 and ISG 2000 platforms. Designed as a modular interface card, it slots into the ISG chassis to extend the platform’s network connectivity with high-speed 10GbE throughput, supporting demanding enterprise and service-provider security deployments that require consolidated firewall, VPN, and intrusion-prevention functionality alongside high-bandwidth uplinks. The module uses a 10GBase-X interface and requires a separately-purchased XENPAK or compatible transceiver, giving network engineers flexibility to match the optical or copper reach needed for a given site. As with other ISG expansion modules, it is hot-swappable within a supported chassis, minimising downtime during capacity upgrades or hardware replacement. The NS-ISG-1XG-A is now end-of-life from Juniper but remains in active service across many legacy security deployments, and reliable refurbished units are in steady demand for maintaining existing ISG estates without a full platform migration.
