JUNIPER IDP-1GE-4COP-BYP IDP Series Intrusion Detection and Prevention Telecom System Card / Module

The Juniper Networks IDP-1GE-4COP-BYP is a 4-port copper expansion module with hardware bypass, designed for Juniper’s IDP Series Intrusion Detection and Prevention appliances. It is compatible with the IDP 75, IDP 200, IDP 250, IDP 600, IDP 800 and IDP 8200 platforms, giving network security teams a way to add inline 10/100/1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet ports to an existing IDP deployment. Each of the four RJ-45 ports supports auto-negotiating copper Ethernet, and the module’s built-in bypass circuitry keeps traffic flowing through the segment even in the event of a power loss or hardware fault on the IDP appliance, protecting network availability while the security function is restored. This makes the card well suited to inline deployments at network chokepoints where continuous traffic flow is a hard requirement, such as core links or DMZ boundaries where a security-appliance outage cannot be allowed to take down connectivity. As a modular expansion card rather than a full appliance, it lets an existing IDP chassis be scaled up with additional inline segments without a full unit replacement.
