The Nortel NTKD10AA is a TN-1X mixed payload manager card. It sits at the heart of the multiplexer, mapping 2 Mbit/s and higher order tributaries into virtual containers inside the STM-1 aggregate and unpacking them again at the far end. TN-1X nodes are still carrying traffic in SDH access rings, and the platform is maintained rather than replaced.
