The Nortel NTK555AAE5 is a shelf processor circuit pack for the Optical Metro 5100 and 5200. The shelf processor is the management card of the shelf: it holds the node configuration, drives the alarms and provisioning interface and coordinates the traffic carrying packs around it. The Optical Metro range multiplexes many client services onto a single fibre pair, with each wavelength handled by its own circuit pack.
