The Alcatel 3AG24161AB is a P4S64X optical line card providing four STM-64/OC-192 ports (10 Gbps per port) for the Alcatel-Lucent 1678 MCC (Metro Core Connect) optical transport platform. The card carries pluggable optics for high-capacity SDH/SONET aggregation and transport across metro, regional and core networks, supporting ring and mesh topologies. As a high-density line interface for the 1678 MCC, it feeds 10 Gigabit traffic into the platform’s cross-connect fabric and integrates with the surrounding line and control cards. The 1678 MCC consolidates SDH/SONET, OTN and MPLS functions in a compact, high-density shelf, and is part of Alcatel-Lucent’s optical portfolio now under Nokia.
