The Alcatel 3AM20056AA is a 16-port ISDN Basic Access (ISDN-BA) line card, designated BAL3-G, using 2B1Q line coding, for the Alcatel-Lucent Litespan 1540 Multi-Service Access Node. This board provisions 16 ISDN BRI subscriber lines from a single card slot, with integrated line testing built directly onto the card to support commissioning and fault-finding without separate ancillary test equipment – the same integrated-testing design philosophy used on the platform’s POTS line cards (ATL3-G). The Litespan 1540 is a scalable, multivendor-compatible access node supporting SDH, PDH, ATM and Ethernet transport, deployed by more than 70 service providers across over 40 countries to deliver narrowband and broadband services over existing copper plant. The BAL3-G sits alongside POTS, SHDSL and VoIP line cards in the same shelf to build mixed-service access nodes.
