The Avaya AA0005017-E5 is a Nortel/Avaya BayStack Redundant Power Supply 15 (RPS 15) Power Array Cabinet, a chassis that houses up to three hot-swappable power modules and distributes backup DC power to a stack of BayStack, Business Policy Switch or Ethernet Routing Switch units over dedicated power cables. Rather than powering the switches directly, the cabinet exists purely to provide N+1 redundancy: if one switch’s own supply fails, the RPS 15 automatically takes over that unit’s load without an outage. It ships RoHS 5/6 compliant (EUED). This is chassis hardware only; the power modules themselves are ordered separately and are compatible across the AA0005017 and AA0005017-E5 chassis revisions.
