CPC 8/TCFM+ hardware Power Supply

The CPC 8/TCFM+ is an eight-channel multiplexer, supplied here without its power adapter. A multiplexer of this kind combines several lower-speed data or voice channels onto one shared transmission link, and is fitted in matching pairs at each end of a leased line or microwave hop so that the channels are recovered in the same order at the far end. Because the two ends have to agree on channel count, framing and interface type, a replacement is normally chosen to match the unit already installed rather than on specification alone. Equipment of this generation is maintained rather than redesigned around, so a matching unit is usually the quickest way back into service.
