The Digital Equipment Corporation DEF6M-M is a DECconcentrator 900MX module with six ANSI multimode fibre MIC PMD ports. It concentrates FDDI attachments into a DEChub 900 chassis, each port taking a multimode fibre MIC connection. FDDI rings of this era are usually kept running because the attached equipment cannot be re-homed, which is what sustains demand for the concentrator modules.

DEChub 900 MultiSwitch chassis are still found in long-lived campus and industrial installations, and modules are ordered as spares because the platform has no current equivalent. Digital’s network products division went to Cabletron Systems in 1998.
