Ericsson ROJ1192291-2 RBS / BSC (STM-1 transmission) Optical Transmission Module

The Ericsson ROJ1192291-2 is an ET-MF4 155Mb/s 4-port ATM MSP MU transmission board, part of the same ET-MF4 optical transmission family as the ROJ1192291-1 already stocked by Tech-Star, and used within Ericsson’s RBS/BSC mobile network transport chain. The board provides a 4-port STM-1 (155Mbps) ATM interface with MSP (Multiplex Section Protection) redundancy, carrying protected optical/electrical transmission traffic between base stations, BSC transport nodes and the wider backhaul network in Ericsson’s 2G/3G RBS architecture. As with the related ROJ1192291-1 variant, this board sits in the transport subrack alongside processor and baseband boards to provide resilient STM-1 connectivity back into the core network. Being a legacy 3G-era transmission card, genuine stock is recovered from decommissioned or upgraded base stations and BSC racks and tested before resale, since new manufacture of this board type has long since ceased.
