HP 490093-001: StorageWorks MSA2300i iSCSI Smart Array controller (AJ803A), 1GbE, 1GB cache.

The HP 490093-001 is a StorageWorks MSA2300i Smart Array iSCSI controller, HP part number AJ803A, a 1GbE iSCSI RAID controller for the MSA2312i and MSA2324i disk enclosures with 1GB of cache and roughly 300MB/s throughput. It manages RAID and iSCSI presentation for the drives in an MSA2300i-family enclosure, providing block storage to attached hosts over standard Ethernet rather than a Fibre Channel fabric, which is what made the MSA2300i line a popular entry point for shared storage.

Controllers of this type are the usual suspect when an enclosure loses a path or a site wants dual-controller redundancy restored, and spares keep an established MSA estate running well past its sales life. Buyers should confirm exact enclosure and firmware compatibility before ordering.
