The HP 430165-002 is a 72GB SAS hard disk drive in HP’s 2.5-inch small form factor (SFF) design, spinning at 10,000 RPM with a dual-port SAS interface running at up to 3Gb/s and 16MB of onboard cache. Supplied hot-swappable in its carrier tray, it is built for the same generation of HP ProLiant servers as HP’s other 72GB 10K SAS drives, spanning the DL180, DL320, DL360, DL370, DL380, DL385, DL580, ML110 and BL465c ranges across Gen6 and Gen7. The dual-port design allows the drive to present two independent SAS paths to redundant storage controllers, so a single controller or cable fault does not take the drive offline, which is important in clustered or high-availability server deployments. This makes the 430165-002 a good fit for RAID array members in production servers where continued access matters as much as raw capacity.
