The Huawei 030ULA is a TNF2OBU01 Optical Booster Unit (OBU), a C-band optical amplifier board for the Huawei OptiX OSN 1800 optical transport platform. Sitting at the transmit end of a DWDM span, the board boosts the aggregate optical power of the multiplexed signal before it enters the fibre, extending reach across metro and regional links. It is an erbium-doped fibre amplifier (EDFA) design with an electrically adjustable variable optical attenuator (EVOA) for gain and output-power control, and it provides optical power monitoring on its input and output ports. The board carries Huawei part number 03030ULA and is one of the TNF1/TNF2 hardware versions of the OBU used across OptiX OSN 1800 subracks.
