The Huawei UG02MNET0 (MNETB) is a Gigabit Ethernet switching board used in the SSM256 service frame of the Huawei UMG8900 media gateway, a core-network platform used in GSM and UMTS networks to provide voice, multimedia and data media gateway services. The board provides GE switching function with 2xGE and 4xFE cascading interfaces, and also receives the clock signal from the MCLK board and distributes it onward to the frame’s TDM processing boards. It runs in 1+1 backup mode for high availability. It forms part of the UMG8900’s switching board tier, working alongside the MTNB (TDM switching) and MCLK (clock) boards in the same frame to keep Ethernet and TDM traffic correctly routed and synchronised.
