The Huawei WP13DPUB is a DPUb, a Data Processing Unit board for the Huawei BSC6900 base station controller and the RNC6900 platform. It is a service processing board that carries user-plane and control-plane traffic inside the controller subrack, delivering the data and signalling capacity that manages calls, packet sessions and mobility across the connected GSM and UMTS radio access network. It is a processing board, not a power distribution unit or a baseband unit component. The DPUb installs in a PARC subrack alongside the switching (SCU), clock (GCU) and operation and maintenance (OMU) boards, and controller capacity scales with the number of DPU boards fitted. Data Processing Units are a routine maintenance and expansion spare for BSC6900 and RNC6900 controllers.
