The IBM 03N7012 is the flat panel assembly for the IBM 7316-TF3 rack-mount console kit, a 17-inch TFT LCD monitor built to occupy just 1U in a standard 19-inch rack. It offers 1280×1024 resolution without the bulk or glare of the CRT consoles it replaced, and pairs with the IBM Travel Keyboard that mounts in the same tray. The 7316-TF3 is widely used as the local management console for IBM RS/6000, pSeries, iSeries and Power Systems racks, supporting AIX, IBM i and Linux hosts, and can extend to a NetBAY LCM switch (feature #4202) for single-point KVM access across up to 64 servers. It remains a common rack-console upgrade or replacement part for data centres still running POWER4/POWER5-era hardware.
