It is a small form-factor pluggable module, so it fits Gigabit Ethernet SFP ports and is not intended for 10 Gigabit SFP+ or XFP cages. A copper SFP is useful where a router or gateway has SFP-only ports but the neighbouring switch, server or firewall uses RJ-45.
