The Mitel MA218AA is a DS1 Interface Assembly. It terminates a T1/DS1 digital trunk circuit, the North American 24-channel digital transmission standard, providing the physical interface into the SX-2000 chassis. It belongs to Mitel’s SX-200/SX-2000/3300 ICP telephone system range, the long-running digital and IP PBX platform family widely deployed across small, medium and enterprise sites. DS1 interface assemblies of this kind remain the standard T1 trunk termination on SX-2000 deployments in North America, where CEPT/E1 assemblies are not the local telecoms standard. Cards from this generation of the SX-2000 range are increasingly hard to source new, which is why refurbished stock remains in demand for maintenance and expansion alike.
