The Miteq RSU-S-LC is a 1:1 redundant transfer switch functioning as the switching element within Miteq’s RSU redundancy switching system, physically routing the RF signal path between a working converter and its standby backup on command from the associated control logic. Working alongside a companion control unit such as the RSU-B-LC, it forms a complete 1:1 protection switch for a single upconverter or downconverter pair in a satellite earth station RF chain, allowing a fault on the primary unit to be switched out automatically without interrupting the link for longer than the changeover time. It is built for rack mounting close to the converters it protects. Miteq’s RSU series was a widely used redundancy switching platform across commercial and government satellite ground stations.
