The Nortel AL3500A15-E6 is an Ethernet Routing Switch 3524GT-PWR+, a 24-port Gigabit PoE+ edge switch from the ERS 3500 stackable series: 24 x 10/100/1000 ports with Power over Ethernet Plus on all ports, four combo Gigabit SFP uplinks shared with ports 21-24, and two further 2.5G-capable SFP ports on the rear panel, backed by a 370W PoE power budget. The ERS 3500 series was Nortel’s (later Avaya’s) wiring-closet access-layer switch line, built to power VoIP handsets, wireless access points and PoE cameras directly from the switch while stacking with other 3500-series units for a single management plane across a floor or building. The 370W budget on this model is enough to power a substantial mixed deployment of IP phones and access points without an external injector. Genuine ERS 3500 units remain in service across many established enterprise and campus networks, and this generation of switch is a routine like-for-like replacement or capacity-expansion purchase for sites already standardised on the platform.
