The DLC8 card slots into the main processing unit or expansion chassis of compatible Panasonic PBX systems, making it suitable for small to medium business telephony installations where digital desk phones are required. Each port supports a single digital extension with full feature access including display functions, programmable keys, and headset connectivity where supported by the connected handset.

The KX-TDA and KX-TDE platforms are now legacy systems, having been superseded by the Panasonic KX-NS series. However, the KX-TDA0173 remains relevant for businesses maintaining existing Panasonic PBX infrastructure or expanding systems already in deployment.
