The Siemens S30810-K2310-X-5 is an HDMO drive holder for the Siemens HiPath 4000 and HiCom 300 communication servers. It combines a hard disk and a magneto-optical (MO) drive on a single carrier, providing around 1.3 GB of storage for system backup and data on the platform. The holder fits the cPCI shelf slots of the HiPath 4000 and can be inserted or removed during live operation, allowing backups and drive replacement without taking the system down. It is a storage and backup component rather than a data-transmission module. As a legacy Siemens part now within the Unify portfolio, the HDMO remains relevant for organisations maintaining installed HiPath 4000 and HiCom 300 systems.
