Siemens S42024-D5096-A200-17 HiPath PBX Card / Module

The Siemens S42024-D5096-A200-17 is a controller card for the Siemens SURPASS hiT SDH transmission platform. It carries out central control and management functions for the synchronous digital hierarchy (SDH) multiplexer, coordinating the interface and tributary cards installed in the same shelf and handling configuration, monitoring and alarm reporting for the node. The card is installed in a control slot of the SURPASS transmission system, where it acts as the local intelligence for an add-drop multiplexer or cross-connect used in carrier metro and backhaul networks. This is transmission equipment rather than a HiPath enterprise PBX module as earlier described. The SURPASS hiT family originated with Siemens and later passed to Nokia Siemens Networks and Nokia.
