Siemens S42024-L5165-A3-5 HiPath Telecom System Card / Module

The Siemens S42024-L5165-A3-5 is a fan unit for the Siemens SURPASS hiT 7070 SDH transmission platform. It supplies forced-air cooling for the equipment shelf, moving air across the interface and switching cards to hold them within their rated operating temperature and guard against thermal failure. The fan unit installs in the chassis cooling position of the hiT 7070 and runs whenever the system is powered, forming part of the platform environmental management. The hiT 7070 is a Siemens multi-service provisioning platform used by carriers for metro and backhaul SDH transport, later passing to Nokia Siemens Networks and Nokia. As a mechanical wear part it is a routine spare for maintaining installed systems. This unit is a close revision variant of the S42024-L5165-A3-4 fan.
