The 3Com 3C10401A is a 3Com NBX 3101 Basic IP Phone, a low-cost desk telephone for the 3Com NBX/VCX business telephony platform. It’s designed for offices, classrooms, manufacturing floors and common areas that need dependable basic communications rather than a full-featured executive handset. The phone has an intuitive, pixel-based multiline display with three softkeys and a four-way cursor controller, giving quick access to the directory and call logs, along with a half-duplex speakerphone for hands-free and two-way speaker use. Two switched 10/100 Ethernet ports allow a PC to share the same network drop as the phone. It supports IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet for flexible installation, and requires VCX Release 5.0 software or higher along with a Group 1 software user licence (3C10411) to activate on the system. It remains a common, cost-effective endpoint for organisations extending an existing 3Com NBX/VCX deployment.
