The 3Com 3C16071B is a SuperStack 3 Advanced Redundant Power System (RPS) chassis, a shared backup-power unit that connects to multiple SuperStack 3 switches over dedicated RPS cabling and takes over a switch’s power feed automatically if its own internal supply fails. The chassis itself houses one or more pluggable power modules, such as the Type 3 325W module (3C16075), which determine its actual output capacity; the RPS chassis and its power module are ordered and replaced separately.
