The 3Com 3C17221 is a 1-port 1000Base-SX expansion module for the 3Com SuperStack 3 Switch 4400 family, including the Switch 4400, Switch 4400 FX, Switch 4400 PWR and Switch 4400 SE. It fits into the switch’s rear expansion slot and adds a single multimode fibre Gigabit Ethernet port, giving a 4400 access switch a resilient, high-performance uplink to the backbone or an inter-workgroup link where copper Gigabit isn’t practical because of distance or electrical noise.
