The 3Com 3C17701 is a SuperStack 3 Switch 4924, a Layer 3 switch with 24 fixed autosensing 10/100/1000BASE-T ports and one expansion slot. It delivers 56 Gbps of multilayer switching capacity with wire-speed performance across all ports and a forwarding rate of more than 40 million packets per second, giving full-rate nonblocking switching with full or half-duplex autonegotiation and flow control.

Layer 3 features include IP unicast routing with static routes, OSPF, RIP/RIPv2, CIDR and UDP Helper, alongside 802.1Q VLANs, 802.1p and multilayer traffic prioritisation. High-availability features cover link aggregation, Rapid Spanning Tree, a redundant power supply system and email or pager fault notification. Management is available through a web interface, command line interface and SNMP, including 3Com Network Supervisor.
