The 3Com 3C16888 is a 48-port 10/100/1000BASE-T switching module for the 3Com Switch 7700 series modular chassis switch, providing 48 auto-sensing Gigabit copper ports over RJ-45 on a single blade for high-density workstation and server aggregation.

As with other Switch 7700 modules, the 3C16888 supports on-board local Layer 2 switching to reduce backplane and switch fabric loading, and installs into one of the six I/O slots on a Switch 7700 chassis alongside other line cards and uplink modules.
