The 3Com Switch 4500G PWR 48-Port (3CR17762-91) is a stackable Layer 2/3 Gigabit Ethernet switch built for medium-sized business and enterprise wiring closets. It provides 48 auto-negotiating 10/100/1000 ports, four of which are dual-personality Gigabit/SFP ports, and two rear expansion slots for 10-Gigabit uplink modules, giving an aggregate switching capacity of up to 176 Gbps.

Power over Ethernet on every port lets the switch feed IP phones, wireless access points and PoE cameras without separate injectors, while clustered stacking supports up to 32 units under a single management IP. Management is available through CLI, an embedded web interface, SNMP, or 3Com’s Network Director/Enterprise Management Suite, with auto-voice VLAN and QoS features aimed at converged voice and data networks.

The 4500G PWR family was widely deployed across corporate LANs needing Gigabit density with PoE, and remains a capable, cost-effective option for refresh or expansion of existing 3Com/HP estates.
